"inspirational words"In January many of us are still getting over the busyness of the holidays. Some of us have made resolutions for the New Year yet by the end of January most of those resolutions have already gone by the wayside. However, February is a great month to pick up those dreams, dust them off and really begin to Focus.

I am sure most of you have already heard that what we focus on expands, but have you really experienced that in your own life? Have you really noticed it, because if you did, you would be very diligent about where you put your attention. Have you been tuning into the new with its stories of doom and gloom or have you decided to create your own news, direct your own show, with you as the star.

I’ll share with you a story here to illustrate the power of “Intention and Focus”.

I was in the grocery store last week and it was very crowed. Every single isle was filled with people and shopping carts. It was very difficult to maneuver my way through this crowd and on top of that there were a few screaming children along the way as well. I began to feel anxious and frustrated. I had to be at an appointment and I could see that this was going to take more time than I thought. And then I remembered the words -Intention and Focus.

So, I stood at the very top of one of the store isles, and I looked straight ahead to the very end of the isle. I focused there. That was where I wanted to go, to the end of that isle in record time, as if there was no one else there but me. Then all of a sudden, out of the blue, people started moving their carts out of the way for me to move by. I did this very same thing through the rest of the store, isle by isle. I kept my eyes straight ahead focusing on where I wanted to go. I did not waver. It seemed like there was a shift in energy, the children stopped crying, the carts moved, and in a few minutes there I was, at my destination, groceries quickly bought and paid for. It worked like a charm. It seemed like a miracle to me, but it happened. I finished my shopping with plenty of time to get to my appointment.

So, there you have it, Intention and Focus at its best, in a simple grocery store. If you don’t believe me, try it for yourself.

What about you? Have you set your intention for February to be the very best month of your life so far and if you have, then what will you focus on today?

I invite you to share your experiences, ideas and insights here by leaving a comment below. Your words just may help someone else see things in a new way.

Today is the last day of February.  Time to take stock of all of the good things that happened to you this month, and also to examine those situations or circumstances that may appear to be the bad things that happened to you this month, and begin to see the blessings in them.

You have gained momentum by setting your intentions at the beginning of February and you can build on Read the rest of this entry »

“As long as I kept my mental focus on the destinations that were ahead, destinations that I had the audacity to dream… I protected myself from despair. The future was uncertain, absolutely, and there were many hurdles, twists, and turns to come, but as long as I kept moving forward, one foot in front of the other, the voices of fear and shame, the messages from those who wanted me to believe that I wasn’t good enough, would be stilled. “Go forward. That became my mantra” From the Pursuit of Happiness by Chris Gardner

Good Monday Morning on this 23 day of February 2009 and welcome back to the “Gift of February” Project,  audio available at:

We are entering the home stretch. Some of you are very pleased with what you have already  accomplished this month. Others of you are disappointed that you were not able to keep going at the pace that you started with.

None of that really matters. Every day is a new day, with new Read the rest of this entry »

Several years ago, I was having a particularly stressful day. My mother had recently passed away and I missed her physical presence terribly. On top of all that, bills were starting to pile up, and I was beginning to wonder if the struggle would ever end. And then, someone called out of the blue and said some very disturbing things to me. After the call, all that I can remember is that I hung up the phone and wept. To this day, I don’t even remember who was on the other end of that phone call, or even what they said to me. I only remember wondering how I would go on.

And then, I did what any self-respecting woman would do, when her life was falling apart. I turned on my answering machine, closed my office door, and Read the rest of this entry »

If you are feeling like you have gotten a little “off track”  with your intentions in making February, the best month of your life so far, not to worry. Be gentle with yourself.  Take a few minutes to read today’s post, and just remember to “Keep On Dancing”.

What I have noticed lately, is that things don’t always seem to happen for the reasons we think, and that can be perfect for us. I started several projects in the last few weeks, that did not work out the way Read the rest of this entry »

Welcome back to the “Gift of February” Project:  audio available at:

Thank you to all of you who are participating and sharing your progess during this month privately or through this blog.  Today the topic is about “Everyday Thoughts”

For for the past 10 days or so, I have been writing down any negative thoughts that I have, as soon as I become aware of them. I am surprised by how many seemingly insignificant, critical thoughts cross my mind each day. I have always considered myself to be a very positive person, and so I am amazed at how many negative little musings still sneak in.

As soon as I made a commitment to do this, I started really noticing them. LIttle things like, “what a gloomy looking day”, or “that person isn’t doing a very good job”, or “what a terrible driver” etc. I suddenly became very conscious of what was going on in my head. I am also recording the positive thoughts and experiences as well, and in time, there will be much more positive than negative.

Most of us have these kinds of thoughts running through our minds Read the rest of this entry »

It’s Valentine’s Day Remember The LoveMy favorite day of the year has always been Valentine’s Day. It didn’t matter if I was alone on that day or not, I still adored it. Valentine’s day for me is a celebration of love, love in its many forms, romantic love between a man and a woman, the never-ending love of family and dear friends, the enduring love between a parent and child, the abiding love between a human and their beloved pet, love of self and love shared with communities or the world.

In our society we seem to need an excuse to tell people how we feel about them, or show them with tokens of our affection. At Christmas, we exchange gifts and take time away from our busy schedules to be with the people who really matter in our lives. On Valentine’s day we are presented with yet another opportunity to open our hearts and share our souls. The marketplace makes it very easy for us to do that, presenting us with a cornucopia of delicacies and finery, from chocolates, to strawberries and whipped cream, to diamonds, singing teddy bear deliveries, and an abundance of greeting cards with just the right sentiment.

It matters not how you choose to serenade the ones you love on this auspicious occasion, what matters is that you do! Whether it be with a store bought treasure or a simple handmade delight, the form is not important, but the sentiment is! Valentine’s day gives you an opportunity to do something that comes naturally for you, as natural as breathing, and that is to BE love and to GIVE love. It is who you are and it is the only thing that really matters in the end.

I wish you the best Valentine’s Day of your life so far. If you would like to share your feelings about Valentine’s Day, what your plans are, happy memories of past Valentine’s celebrations, or anything else about the “Gift of February” project, please leave a comment below.

Enjoy your weekend and I’ll see you here on Monday for Day 16…

I leave you with my love… Veronica
