if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you
have to keep moving forward.” ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.

The dreamers are the saviors of the world.
As the visible world is sustained by the invisible,
so men, throughout all their trials and troubles,
are nourished by the beautiful visions of their dreamers.
Humanity cannot forget its dreamers;
it cannot let their ideals fade and die.
It lives in them; it knows them as the realities
which it shall one day see and know. ~ James Allen

Those are a success who have lived well, laughed often, and loved much;
who have gained the respect of intelligent people and the love of children,
who have filled their niche and accomplished their task,
who leave the world better than they found it,
whether by a perfect poem or a rescued soul;
who never lacked appreciation of the earth’s beauty or failed to express it;
who looked for the best in others and gave the best they had.
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Always be a first-rate version of yourself,

Life is a big canvas, throw all the paint on it you can. ~ Danny Kaye

Love grows by giving. The love we give away is the only love we keep.
The only way to retain love is to give it away. ~ Elbert Hubbard

___________________________________________

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.
Attitude to me, is more important than facts.
It is more important than past, than education,
than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes,
than what other people think or say or do.
It is more important than appearance, gifted ability, or skill.
It will make or break a company, a church, a home.

The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday
regarding the attitude we will embrace from that day.
We cannot change our past, we cannot change
the fact that people will act in a certain way.
We cannot change the inevitable.
The only thing that we can do is play on the one
string that we have and this string is, Attitude.
I am convinced that life is ten percent what happens to me
and ninety percent how I react to it. And so it is with you….
We are in charge of our Attitudes.
~ Charles Swindoll

You don’t get to choose how you’re going to die. Or when.
But you can decide how you’re going to live now.
~ Joan Baez

Create something today…

A poem, a blog post, a handmade card, a painting, a song,
a souffle, a software application.

The form is unimportant, only the passion matters.
And the calling of your own soul to the aliveness of
BEING in this moment.

Seek not perfection and release all judgment.
Simply put your heart into it.

Stamp your name upon it, imbue it with love and
PRESENT it to the world.

It matters more than you know!

Then celebrate it.
Celebrate you.
Celebrate the life that gave it to you.

C’mon… We’re waiting!

"inspirational words"Today, some inspirational words about the morning glory…

My mother-in-law passed away  late yesterday afternoon and my first morning glory of the season bloomed that same morning.  I believe morning glories are here to teach us a very profound lesson about life and about death. They have touched my life in so many ways and I have written about that. I thought today would be a good day to include my story. Enjoy and have a glorious day.

I planted seeds in my little garden this year.

I have never planted seeds before because I am not a very patient person and waiting for the little green shoots to rise above the ground was just too much for me. But this year, I thought I would give it a try. I thought it would be a good metaphor for me to plant something and watch it grow, much as I have many times, planted thoughts, dreams and affirmations and watched many of them become a reality.

And so in the Spring of this year, I planted my garden. I chose many types of flowers and Read the rest of this entry »

7 Tips For Finding Your Lifes Purpose

Today's Garden Picture of the Day - My Garden Angel

Here are some tips that may help you uncover what is already waiting inside you.

1. Make a list of all of the things you loved to do as a child. Do you have an especially happy memory of something you really enjoyed doing? Something that you were complimented on and felt extremely proud of.

2. What are your favorite kinds of books? Do you love romance novels, arts and crafts books, mystery stories, new age and metaphysical titles? If you are not sure, visit www.amazon.com and check out their classifications.

3. When you have some free time, how do you spend it? Alone or in the company of friends and family. Exploring the city or visiting the country.

4. What do people compliment you about? If you can’t think of anything, then simply ask a few of your closest friends and business associates what they appreciate about you, what they see as your strengths and talents. You may be very surprised by their answers. Asking a co-worker will give you a much different perspective than asking a family member but both have value in helping you uncover your brilliance.

5. What are you especially proud of having accomplished in your life? This doesn’t have to be about winning awards. It could just be about how you have reached out to offer a helping hand to someone who really needed it.

6. What qualities, talents, gifts do you admire in others? Make a list of the people in your world and beside each one, jot down their strong points and the things you love about them. Be sure to let them know as well and make their day.

7. If you had all the time in the world and money was no longer an issue, what would you really like to do? Imagine what your perfect day would look like from beginning to end. What would you have for breakfast? What is the view like when you open your drapes? How do you spend your afternoon, where, and with whom? How do  you feel as you close your eyes at the end of your perfect day?

Doing this exercise will help you to get to  know yourself  a little better and give you more insight into wherever your true purpose lies.

“There is a giant asleep within every man. When the
giant awakes, miracles happen.” ~ Frederick Faust

You came here for a reason. There is something that only YOU can do and the world is waiting for it.

I wish you Godspeed on your journey.

 Passion... Purpose... and Legacy...

Today's Garden Picture of the Day - An Orange Calla Lily from My Balcony Garden

What is your individual purpose? What would you like to be able to say is your legacy? I believe that each of us wants to find our purpose in life, our raison d’etre or reason for being. We need to have a motive to get out of bed in the morning. We want to feel alive and passionate about something. Something that makes a difference in the world. We are not alone in this and yet many of us are still searching for that purpose.

Purpose is much bigger than goals, yet we are advised in many of the self help and productivity books to set goals. However, If you are aligned with your purpose, the goals just fall into place.

I was friends with a fellow who set a goal to find the woman of his dreams, have a successful business and own his own beautiful home with a Mercedes Benz parked in the driveway, all by the age of forty. He did manage to achieve all of it and yet he admitted to me that none of it had brought him the peace and happiness that he had aspired to. He did not feel truly content or fulfilled and this really surprised and disappointed him. For him, these goals didn’t really come from the inside. They were simply based on what he thought he should do or have in order to look good and feel respected by his peers. They were more in alignment with what “society” tells us will make us happy than what our heart is saying. They came from the outside. Purpose has to come from the inside.

I was particularly touched by an email I received recently from Read the rest of this entry »

I have always been captivated by pansies. Their soft velvety touch. They appear to be so delicate, yet they are amazingly strong. The ones shown here are from my balcony garden and have survived heavy rains, strong winds and a snow storm.

They have shown me that if I just surrender to what is and let go, without trying to fight against it, I will survive and even THRIVE. Their smiling faces are a testament to that and always make me smile.

We can learn so much from flowers if we are open to the messages they bring forth. They are one of our greatest gifts on this planet.

Time To Sing The Song You Came Here To Sing

You’ve taken all the abundance courses, read all the prosperity books, watched the latest and greatest inspirational movies, listened to all the motivational audios, and you’re still struggling.

Here are some possible reasons why. Perhaps you can relate to some of them.

1. You’re stuck in the “pay off”. What is the pay off for staying where you are now. I knew of a woman who complained constantly that her husband never paid any attention to her. She was diagnosed with cancer and all of a sudden her husband was at her side, tending to her every need. Shortly thereafter, she became cancer free and her husband went back to his old ways, much to her dismay. Months later, the cancer was back and so was her husband. My point: you may be saying that your desire is to be wealthy, but if wealth is not showing up in your life, then take a good look at “what is”. There may be some clues there as to why.

2. You’re afraid to hurt or lose someone you love. Who would you hurt / lose if you suddenly became rich? Would you Read the rest of this entry »
