Today is the first day of March 2011 and it is minus 29 degrees below zero here.  I have  been dreaming of pansies lately and so I went to my local garden centre to see if they had arrived yet and to my delight, there they were with their beautiful smiling faces. I also purchased a few delightful gnome friends to keep them company.

Every year I always CELEBRATE the arrival of the first pansies of the season. I think it is important to celebrate the things we love, the things that bring joy to our hearts and comfort our soul. I believe it is the little things along the way that sustain us and keep us going.

On that note, I am sharing my pansies with you here today. I hope this picture brings a smile to your face and reminds you that Spring is truly on its way, even though it may not appear that way yet.

May March 2011 be the very best month of your life so far.

I have always been captivated by pansies. Their soft velvety touch. They appear to be so delicate, yet they are amazingly strong. The ones shown here are from my balcony garden and have survived heavy rains, strong winds and a snow storm.

They have shown me that if I just surrender to what is and let go, without trying to fight against it, I will survive and even THRIVE. Their smiling faces are a testament to that and always make me smile.

We can learn so much from flowers if we are open to the messages they bring forth. They are one of our greatest gifts on this planet.
