Its Valentines Day Remember The LoveIt’s Valentine’s Day – Remember the Love

For a very long time, my favourite day of the year was always Valentine’s Day. It didn’t matter if I was alone on that day or not, I still adored it. Valentine’s day for me is a celebration of love, love in its many forms: romantic love between a man and a woman, the never-ending love of family and dear friends, the enduring love between a parent and child, the abiding love between a human and their beloved pet, love of self and love shared with communities or the world.

In our society we seem to need an excuse to tell people how we feel about them, or show them with tokens of our affection. At Christmas, we exchange gifts and take time away from our busy schedules to be with the people who really matter in our lives. On Valentine’s day we are presented with yet another opportunity to open our hearts and share our souls. The marketplace makes it very easy for us to do that, presenting us with a cornucopia of delicacies and finery, from chocolates, to strawberries and whipped cream, to diamonds, singing teddy bear deliveries, and an abundance of greeting cards with just the right sentiment.

It matters not how you choose to serenade the ones you love on this auspicious occasion, what matters is that you do! Whether it be with a store bought treasure or a simple handmade delight, the form is not important, but the sentiment is! Valentine’s day gives you another opportunity to do something that comes naturally for you, as natural as breathing, and that is to BE love and to GIVE love. It is who you are and it is the only thing that really matters in the end.

And so I wish you a Happy Valentine’s Day.

May LOVE touch your precious heart today in unexpected ways and JOY bless your beautiful soul!

Take care and have a magical day.

I leave you with a Valentine Poem and my love…

A Table in a Restaurant on Valentine’s Day

I want to be a table, in a restaurant, on Valentine’s Day!

Think how glorious that would be,
And how many people would spend that special day with me.

What will they talk about? What will they say?
Will there be laughter and people at play?
What are their stories? How far have they come?
What will they tell me, the old and the young?

Will hearts open and tender souls touch?
Will there be magic that moves me so much?
Will there be secrets and sadness as well?
How much will they venture to be and to tell?

Will they remember this day gone before?
And where they were then, and now they want more?

And though they look different, with each changing place,
As the food and the wine, they’re invited to taste.

Each one is trying to do the same thing,
Whether in depth, or a casual fling.

Just for a moment to touch someone’s heart,

And feel loved by another before they do part.

Enjoy and have a Beautiful Valentine’s Day!

Good Monday Morning Everyone

Today is the second day of February. Are you ready to get inside the box yet, really get inside February? Several of you have written to me from my email list to let me know that you will be participating in “The Gift of February”. If you don’t know what I am talking about, see Saturdays blog post for January 31, 2009 or listen to the audio on my website here at: http://www.insightsandinspirations.com/february.html

I thought it might be a good idea, if you feel inspired, to post here every day of what you have accomplished or what you are planning to accomplish this month. It doesn’t have to be something monumental, just something that really matters to you.

For example, I see that Peter is committing to writing an article a day, and he is letting us know when he has done that. Bravo Peter! Keep up the great work. You could also post any insights that you may have experienced as a result of just living your life from a more conscious place and being more “present” to the people and experiences around you.

Whatever you would like to share, would be most appreciated. I believe it would spur us all on to greater heights, not to mention, it would be a whole lot of fun, to see what people are up to this month. And if something is fun, we are more likely to keep doing it. You might even make a few new like minded friends here.

So, I invite you to leave a comment below, today and every single day of this month, if you like. I look forward to hearing from you.

Take care and have a marvelous Monday.

Love and blessings, Veronica

Today is the last day of January 2009 and this morning I was looking at my calender at February and it occurred to me that it is the perfect month. It begins on a Sunday, the start of a new week and it ends on a Saturday, the last and final day of the week.

It consists of only 28 days, 4 full weeks, and unlike the other months of the year there are no extra days dangling off the end.

And to make it even sweeter, there is a celebration smack dab in the middle on Valentine’s day.

As I looked at the calender, I thought to myself, what could I do with this perfect month? I feel as though it is a gift and I could wrap it in bright red paper and tie it in a bow and give it away to others and to myself.

As I stared at the 28 days sitting there before me, all in a row, on the calendar, I wondered to myself.
Where will I be on the last day, what will I have accomplished, what will I have done with this precious month that I have been given. What new people, experiences, habits, will I welcome into my life and which ones am I now ready to let go of?

What one thing can I promise myself to do every single day, for just 28 days, and keep my word about it, and how will I feel at the end when I have completed it?

What if I could just get inside of this box. I could say to myself “Here I am. I’m in February.” How would I see the world from there and how would the world see me? How would I choose to BE inside this box?

What if I chose to be totally present and conscious, not walking around in a daze, but aware of each moment, taking nothing for granted, counting each blessing, savoring each encounter, relishing each experience, feeling grounded to the earth, perhaps for the very first time, viewing it all from a higher place than before. And if I found myself off centre, I could remember, “Hey, I’m in February” and get back in the box, so to speak, get right back on track. I could remember that again, and again and again, if I needed to. I could do that for just 28 little days!

How about you? Will YOU join me? I am giving you this precious gift, this February. Rip off the paper, unwrap the bow, and get inside the box, really get inside February!

We’ll meet again at the end. We’ll have a lot to talk about, you and I. I’m sure of it.

Happy February 2009!
